Exhibition - Installation art
An installation artwork that provides a multi-layered experience that aims to create a sense of unease in the viewer. The overwhelming red, the barely visible sharp forms, and the intimate tactile interaction all contribute to a visceral experience.
This art installation presents a multi-layered experience designed to evoke a strong sense of unease in the viewer. The primary material used is a dense array of red threads. The color red was chosen not only for its striking visual impact but also for its psychological associations with danger, tension, and alertness. Its intensity demands attention and creates a moment of hesitation before entering the space.
One of the most prominent features of the installation is the long strands of thread hanging from the ceiling. As viewers walk through the space, these threads brush against their bodies, creating a subtle yet persistent sense of discomfort. This physical contact invades personal space, simulating a feeling of intrusion or vulnerability.
Hidden among the threads are wooden cubic plates with sharp and angular forms. These elements are intentionally difficult to see, and when accidentally bumped into, they trigger a sudden physical awareness — a momentary startle. Their jagged geometry and unexpected presence are meant to heighten the overall feeling of tension and disquiet.
The installation functions as a tunnel of tension, engaging both the physical and emotional responses of the viewer. The overwhelming red, the barely visible sharp forms, and the intimate tactile interaction all contribute to a visceral experience. It invites the viewer to confront discomfort, uncertainty, and the vulnerability of moving through a space where not everything is visible — yet everything can be felt.
